Daytrip Runabout/Cat self-drive or skippered
Hire a runabout or small catamaran and take yourselves fishing for the day. Of course we can also provide all the tackle and a knowledgeble skipper.
Full Day’s skippered fishing trip with BBQ or seafood lunch onboard. Where we will go could depend on weather and tides. Out of Tory Channel in the Cook Strait or heading North out of the Queen Charlotte.
Fishing weekend liveaboard 48 hours - self-drive or skippered
| Day 1 (pm) : | Arrive at Compass Charters Base in Waikawa Marina by own transport or the courtesy van. The Compass crew will show you onboard your charter vessel. Where you will go on your charter will depend on the weather. Whatever the plan we will cruise out to a mooring or spend the night onboard in the marina to make an early start. |
| Day 2 : | A cooked breakfast on the way while steaming to the first spot for the day. We could be heading for Tory channel and then Cook Strait or head North towards the outer Sounds. During your trip you might even wonder further. Spend the day fishing and relaxing and a lunch onboard. For the night we could well end up in Endeavour Inlet or another sheltered bay depending on the next day's plans. Close the day with a BBQ on deck, then a game of cards or just a quiet night to be ready for the next catch. |
| Day 3 : | After another day of fun fishing we will cruise back to Waikawa Marina and help you on your way again. Tackle, linen and all meals onboard can all be provided. We will just need you to give us a bit of a hand onboard. |
Option: Extend the trip by a day and fishing around D’Urville
Fishing weekend with accommodation - 2 days
| Day 1 (pm) : | Cruise to lodge in Endeavour inlet for an evening meal and accommodation. |
| Day 2 : | Whole days fishing North of Queen Charlotte Sound, weather dependent. Then back to the lodge for dinner and to sleep ashore. |
| Day 3 : | Head around Cape Koamaru and fish several spots in the Cook Strait. Cruising back to the marina through Tory Channel. |
We can accommodate larger parties if accommodation ashore is used.
Fishing weekend with accommodation - 3 days
| Day 1 (noon) : | Cruise out of the marina and head out of the Queen Charlotte Sound with destination Catherine Cove on D’Urville Island. The D’Urville Island Café will provide a quality meal and accommodation ashore. |
| Day 2 : | Whole days fishing at Rangitoto’s and Stephens Passage Then back to the lodge for dinner and to spend the night on dry land. |
| Day 3 : | Slowly headng back to Queen Carlotte while fishing on the way. Spend the night at one of the lodges in Endeavour Inlet. The next we are heading back to Waikawa or if we have time we could go around Cape Koamaru and fish several spots in the Cook Strait. Cruising back to the marina through Tory Channel. |
We can include divers on most trips depending on number of guests and divers. You can bring all your own gear or we can organise it for you. As Dive Marlborough shares our charterbase we can also provide you with dive guides or other dive adventures.
