Just about anything is possible. You decide about your own holiday on the water. The Compass Charters crew will assist you any way possible to ensure you have an unforgettable experience in the Sounds. 

Venture on a bareboat charter or have a skipper guide you through the waterways, learn to sail, relax or explore? We can take you sailing, fishing or diving. We can show you the historic and wonderful places in the Sounds. While cruising admire the seals& the scenery, dolphins & D'urville Island, native bush & birds.

You will find examples and ideas of sorts of charters and boating holidays on this site. One of those trips could suit you perfectly well or you might like to compose your own floating adventure. Rates of your trip depend on vessel(s), time of year, charter length and additional requirements. Feel free to tell us what you like and we will quote you a package and deliver?

Here are a few guidelines to help you put together your boating holiday or getaway.

• Runabouts are great for a day out: Water skiing, site-seeing, fishing, diving, looking at property, water taxi, or if you are organised even for hunting. We can also provide skippers on these small vessels if required.
   
  The runabouts can also be combined with accommodation ashore, in the Sounds or in Picton or Waikawa. Some of the runabouts (small Power Cats) could even be towed to other cruising areas like Abel Tasman, Port Underwood and Nelson Lakes.
   
• If you are looking at more serious fishing or diving trips EJ will be most suitable for day trips, weekends and longer. If you have a qualified skipper onboard these trips can also be combined with accommodation at one of the lodges to make it possible to take larger groups.

• All yachts and launches are well equipped and make great live aboard vessels. Life onboard will be most comfortable if you do not load the vessels to the maximum capacity. An eight-berth vessel will be more comfortable with 6 guests onboard etc.
   
• A fully skippered 54ft Beneteau is also an option for a high end experience onboard "Voila".
