Fly SoundsAir and Float on the Sounds with a vessel of Compass Charters. Compass Charters will book your Flights for you. Board your SoundsAir plane in Wellington. Enjoy amazing views while flying over the Cook Strait. Land at Picton Airport where the courtesy van will take you to the base of Compass Charters in Waikawa Marina.
Your well-equipped yacht or launch will be waiting for your charter. If you have taken advantage of our provisioning service your shopping will all be stowed onboard. Just yourselves and your luggage to go on. Then a familiarisation of vessel and cruising area, cast off the mooring lines to enjoy your boating holiday; fishing, cruising, waterskiing behind our runabout or just chilling out.
When you arrive back in the marina after your delightful charter, the Compass Charters Crew will help you on your way again. Travelling back to the airport, board your plane and take to the air again to cross the strait on your way home.
| Day 1 : | Arrive at the luxury Waikawa Seafront Apartments.Enjoy the day exploring the famous Marlborough wine region. Have dinner in your apartment or at one of the local restaurants. |
| Day 2 : | Board a sailing or motor yacht of the Compass Charters fleet. With your local skipper, sail or cruise into the Sounds, visit islands or mainland, enjoy the wildlife & scenery or try a spot of fishing. Lunch and a barbeque dinner will be served onboard in one of the scenic bays the Sounds have to offer. Then retire to your apartment. Fishing trips also a possibility. |
| Day 1 : | Arrival at Waikawa Marina, were you shall have the pleasure of staying in the large luxury Seafront apartments for 3 nights. Enjoy beautiful views and relax in the swimming pool and spa. Experience Marlborough’s hospitality, while touring the exquisite wine region or we can arrange a guided kayak trip. |
| Day 2 & 3 : | Your 6 or 7 meter craft will be waiting for you in the marina. For the next 2 days, enjoy many activities in the amazing waterways of the Sounds, such as cruising, fishing, sightseeing and water skiing or visit islands & resorts. |
We could also arrange accommodation in the Sounds for you while cruising with our smaller vessels.
3 days cruising & 2 days relaxing
| Day 1 : | Arrival at Waikawa Marina to board one of Compass Charters well-equipped vessels. This could be a luxury azimut, a small Cat or any other yacht or powerboat depending on groupsize and requirements. Cruise or sail out of the marina with a professional skipper or let a Compass Charters representative show you the ropes before you set out for your bareboat charter. Moor up in the outer Sounds after hopefully encountering some seals or dolphins. Enjoy a barbeque on deck at anchor or a meal at one of the Resorts. |
| Day 2 & 3 : | We could visit Motuara Island, the bird sanctuary. A short walk is rewarded with amazing bird life and great views. Walk part of the Queen Charlotte Track through native bush before retiring to your vessel for happy hour. Hands-on sailing experience or visit historical places or old mines. Have a refreshing swim or just relax while enjoying the scenery. Build a seafood banquet with green-lipped mussels, paua and some of the Blue Cod and Tarikihi you caught earlier. All that and more will be within your grasp. |
| Day 4 : | We will make our way back to the marina where you shall spend two relaxing nights at Waikawa Seafront Apartments. |
| Day 5 : | Enjoy a half-day wine tour visiting the famous award winning vineyards. Laze around the pool and spa, play a round of golf, rent a kayak or visit art and craft shops. Self-drive charters also available if crew is experienced. |

Spend 3 days cruising, sailing, fishing, exploring?Spend the last night in Ship’s Cove.
Wait for the Compass Crew and leave your charter vessel in their capable hands while you spend the next 3 days kayaking, walking the Queen Charlotte Track and maybe even Mountain biking with the help of Southern Wilderness. Accommodation and meals can be provided for.
